My exams start in just over a week. I cannot be ill.
THIS CANNOT HAPPEN.

My Tumblr is always glitchy now, so I’ve opted for ignoring it. However, the Wikipedia thing is really throwing me off too. Don’t they realize I need quick answers now?
So the Wikipedia issue isn’t just my computer then? Oh thank god!
Wikipedia, please come back.

do you use vlc? if it’s just a weird filename/extension, vlc is still able to read it without you needing to do anything, usually! otherwise idk. i have downloads in mp4 and avi formats if you need either; one is a torrent though.
I’ve tried VLC but the video doesn’t even register. It’s all a bit odd. I’m re-downloading the file in case it just didn’t download properly or something. I don’t mind torrents, I just want to waaaaatch. ;_; .avi is better for my computer though, given it’s track record with odd extensions. *grumbles*

to-paraphrase replied to your post: I am downloading The Pacific as I type!
Pt. 2 was pretty intense. Is this the file you can’t play on anything? I might be able to help find a playable file, if you want.
bb, that would be amazing! All my usual sources are failing me. The offending file has a weird extension: xvid-notv. I’m re-downloading it in case it just didn’t download correctly but I won’t hold my breath…

but what’s the problem? what kind of file is it?It’s a file type that WMP, VLC and DivX don’t recognise. I tried downloading the recommended codec but it made no difference. The file is xvid-notv. D:
Ok, most probably the file’s just corrupted or busted, and you need to download it again. I have had a lot of those files before, and they’ve all worked with me before. There have been moments where files didn’t work, but that mainly was because of some glitch in the downloading, and the file not working correctly.
Thanks, bb. Firefox did crash just when the file was 99% downloaded so that could be it. I’ll try re-downloading. :)

do you have a Mac? MPlayer OSX works great, too.
Sadly I do not.
